A 250th victory for the Rouge et Or

The Rouge et Or of the University of Laval signed the 250the victory in his program’s history by defeating the McGill Redbirds 46-14 on Saturday afternoon at Percival Molson Stadium.

It was also the 37th consecutive victory for head coach Glen Constantin’s team on the field of the English-speaking university. Laval’s last setback at this location dates back to September 16, 2006.

In today’s duel, Rouge et Or quarterback Arnaud Desjardins threw three touchdown passes and scored a major with his legs. The third-year player completed 21 of 25 passes for 263 yards. He also managed 55 yards rushing.

These relays for majors were caught by Édouard Arsenault, Isaac Gaillardetz and Frédérik Antoine.

Also of note is Guillaume Cauchon’s incredible 100-yard punt return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

The Redbirds’ two successes were the work of quarterback Eloa Latendresse-Regimbald on quarterback sneaks. The latter completed 15 of 32 attempted passes for 196 yards in the air and was also the victim of two thefts.

The Rouge et Or will be back in action on Sunday, October 8th when the Concordia Stingers visit TELUS-UL Stadium. This duel will also be broadcast on TVA Sports.

The Redbirds, for their part, will receive a visit from the Carabins of the Université de Montréal next Friday. This will not be an easy task as the Blues have not lost in five matches so far in 2023.
