A grand jury indicted Davis on one count of murder with the use of a deadly weapon and with intent to promote, support or assist a criminal organization.

Duane Davis published his memoir “Compton Street Legend” in 2019, in which he admitted to sitting in the passenger seat of the Cadillac from which the four shots were fired that killed Tupac 27 years ago.

He said he was one of the last witnesses to the rapper’s death and spoke to police about the events in 2010, when he was facing a life sentence in prison.

A few months ago, police searched Davis’ wife’s home for evidence related to the rapper’s murder. On Friday morning, authorities arrested Duane Davis, a former gang leader.

Tupac Shakur was shot and killed on the Las Vegas Strip in 1996 when he was just 25 years old. Despite his young age, the artist had already become a hip-hop legend and was considered one of the greatest rappers of all time. The investigation into his murder was never completed.
