When he’s not busy driving a Formula 1 car, Valteri Bottas holds his own on two wheels.
With no Grand Prix taking place this weekend, the Alfa Romeo driver traveled to Leuven, Belgium to take part in the European Gravel Championship, where races are held on gravel.
He was there primarily to accompany his wife, Tiffany Cromwell, a professional racer on the Canyon SRAM team, but while he was there he might as well give some kicks.
“I am passionate about racing and especially gravel,” he told RTBF. It has become an addiction. I’m more nervous now than during an F1 race because it’s less routine. “I’m here to get a ticket to the World Championships in the age group,” said the 34-year-old Finn.
