When John F. Kennedy Jr. was alive, he seemed to be a tall, dark, and handsome man who was unfazed by anything. Of course, being a Kennedy had its perks, and we’re sure he took advantage of them all whenever he could. However, an ex of his detailed how he dealt with certain issues and how he was immediately afraid to tell his “mom” Jackie Kennedy.

John Jr.’s ex-girlfriend Christina Haag released her memoir in the early 2000s called “Come to the Edge,” which detailed almost everything about their five-year relationship. From the way they met to how he handles crises, it was all there. Fast forward to today, and people are noticing an instance that Haag wrote in her memoir about John Jr. being scared and not wanting to talk to Jackie.

“I saw John, my captain: John who was never afraid. Unable to keep still, he paced up and down the beach, muttering something, his eyes wide and focused on the ground. “Don’t tell mom, don’t tell mom,” he repeated like a mantra to no one,” she wrote, describing the time he hurled her kayak into a boulder. “Mommy wasn’t there and he didn’t talk to me. I could have put my hand in front of his eyes and he wouldn’t have blinked. That’s when I really realized the danger we were in. John was scared.”

There have been many reports about the mother-son bond between John Jr. and Jackie. Some said he would dictate his relationships based on what she said and how she vetted his girlfriends. But this personal account sheds a whole new light on their relationship.

Well, for those who don’t know, John Jr. and Haag were college sweethearts. They met in New York and quickly became friends, especially because their apartments were only a few blocks apart. They traveled the world together but separated after five years.
