Crown prosecutor Me Valérie Bélizaire-Joseph welcomed this decision, which was based on “public confidence in the administration of justice”.
“The decision made is a strong decision, an important decision. This shows that the courts, like society as a whole, reject this type of crime. “Keeping this woman in custody sends the message that this is a crime that will not be accepted, even if it is a woman with no history and no criminal record,” emphasized Mr. Bélizaire-Joseph.
Remembering facts

The defendant is said to have commented on her drunken state to both a witness and the first responders at the scene of the accident.
His case will return to court for further proceedings in early November. The sixty-year-old faces a life sentence.
