The surreal scene shot in Slovakia appears to be a photomontage, but it is not.

Slovak police even said that officers “couldn’t believe their eyes” when they saw the photo.

The particularly unusual photo was taken by a radar in the western town of Senice and shared by police on their Facebook account.

The publication was first discovered by the media France Info.

Although it can’t be seen in the picture, there is actually a human driver behind the dog. The animal simply sat on his lap.

The 31-year-old driver explained the situation by saying that his dog had suddenly jumped on him, but the police contradicted his account.

According to surveillance camera footage viewed by officers, there was no sudden movement in the car seconds before the photo was taken.

In Quebec, according to Article 442 of the Road Safety Code, it is “prohibited to drive a road vehicle if an animal obstructs the driver’s view or impedes his driving.”

It is also forbidden to drive with your pet on your lap.

In addition to being prohibited, your pet could suffer serious injuries if the airbag deploys.

In the event of a violation, you risk a $100 fine.
