Hunter Biden, son of US President Joe Biden, will appear in Delaware court to hear charges related to illegal possession of a firearm, to which he must plead not guilty.

The Democrat’s middle son allegedly lied on his registration document to own a firearm in 2018. In the questionnaire, Hunter did not admit to being a drug user.

He admitted he struggled with crack addiction during that time, but his lawyers said he did not break the law.

According to the Associated Press, such charges are rare, and another court found that banning drug users from carrying guns violates the Second Amendment under the Supreme Court’s new standards.

Hunter Biden’s lawyers believe prosecutors caved to pressure from Republicans and that the charges were the result of political pressure.

If found guilty, Hunter faces up to 25 years in prison.

Joe Biden’s son is also at the center of another allegation. Republicans accuse the president of benefiting from Hunter’s foreign business dealings during his term as vice president from 2009 to 2017, but have provided no evidence.

The accusation is the main reason why Kevin McCarthy, Republican politician and President of the House of Representatives, called for the opening of an impeachment inquiry against Joe Biden about three weeks ago.

“These are allegations of abuse of power, obstruction and corruption, and they deserve further investigation by the House of Representatives,” McCarthy said.

“This is a transparent attempt to boost Donald Trump’s campaign by creating a false moral equivalence between Trump — the fourtime impeached former president — and Joe Biden,” Rep. Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the Oversight Committee, said at the time. the chamber.
