The actress, who accused Gérard Depardieu of two rapes in 2018, spoke out against “the really dirty message” of the actor, who published an open letter in Le Figaro. For her, the actor is “the reversal of guilt.”

“It’s a really dirty message: he defiled me in 2018 and in some ways continues to do so with words,” she fumed in ELLE magazine.

In his letter, Gérard Depardieu claims that these allegations are the result of professional disappointment and that all reports were consensual. “A young woman came to my house for the first time, walked lightly and voluntarily into my room. She now says she was raped there. There has never been any force, violence or protest between us. She wanted to sing Barbara’s songs with me in the Cirque d’Hiver. I told him no. She filed a complaint,” he says.

A “strategy to reverse guilt,” according to Charlotte Arnould. “He puts himself in the victim role to arouse sympathy and sow doubt. To recontextualize the facts: When I go to his house, I’m 22 years old, I weigh 80 pounds because I suffer from anorexia, and he’s a friend of my father,” she replies, emphasizing that “Barbara has nothing to do with it had to do with any of it.”

“I never consented,” she concludes.
