A social justice advocate was stabbed to death in New York City while waiting at a bus stop with his girlfriend during a clumsy, unprovoked attack.

Ryan Carson, 32, was stabbed in the chest and the blade pierced his heart about 4 a.m. while he was at a bus stop about a mile away at Lafayette Avenue and Malcom X Boulevard in Brooklyn.

He came home from a wedding – and his girlfriend Claudia posted a picture of them smiling together at the wedding just hours before the tragedy.

Ryan was with Claudia when the suspect – who was wearing a dark sweatshirt with the hood pulled up – approached him and asked, “What the hell are you looking at?” before violently stabbing Carson in the chest.

In security footage, the attacker can be seen overturning scooters before turning on the couple.

On the security footage, his girlfriend can be heard screaming, “Please, please, please!”

Carson falls over the bench he was sitting on before the attacker pushes him to the ground and stabs him multiple times.

He then spits on the girlfriend, kicks Carson’s body and storms away.

Carson’s girlfriend held him in her arms before he was taken to Kings County Hospital Center, where he later died.

The day after, she posted a screenshot of a note she found in his phone that read, “When you get right down to it, I want to love Claudia more than she’s ever been loved, and that’s honestly all she has.” ever deserved.”‘

Carson worked as a senior campaign manager for solid waste at the New York Public Interest Research Group – and was considered someone who tried to make the world a better place.

In a statement, NYPIRG called Carson “a beloved employee, colleague and friend and a creative, talented, tireless and optimistic advocate for students and the environment.”

Carson’s friend and roommate Tom Krantz, 31, told the Post it was remarkable “how much.” [Carson] actually did for the whole city and for his friends.

“He’s really kind of the epicenter of an entire community that he created and brought together.”
