Dirt bike rider Cody Heron who stomped on his mothers

Dirt bike rider Cody Heron, who stomped on his mother’s car with her children, is arrested after a flood of tips from the public

A man who was filmed smashing a woman’s rear window over the weekend has been arrested, police have announced – after members of the public tried to identify him from the now-viral video.

The footage filmed on Sunday comes from Philly, and 6abc Philadelphia reports that it shows 26-year-old Cody Heron going on a killing spree – ramming Nikki Bullock’s car, then climbing up and shattering its window in front of a crowd other driver.

Both of Bullock’s children, ages five and two, were in the car at the time – and the incident ended with the man, believed to be Heron, pointing a gun at the mother. Nobody stepped in to help.

While no one was injured during the frantic encounter, which took place at a red light, the suspect was able to drive off unhindered, and outraged detectives across the country worked tirelessly to name and shame the then-at-large crook.

On Thursday, Philadelphia Police Department Assistant Commissioner Frank Vanore revealed that those efforts were not in vain – and said a suspect had been arrested thanks to a flood of feedback.

He wrote of the motorcyclist featured in the clip – which is now being shared nationally: “Great tips from the public and excellent detective work.”

“SIG and Major Crimes Detectives made an overnight arrest in the Sunday downtown robbery/vandalism incident involving the man on the motorcycle.”

The statement was sent just before 6:30 a.m. and assured the public: “More to come.”

The announcement did not officially name the suspect as Heron, but law enforcement sources told 6abc Philadelphia that he was the man nabbed in connection with the case – a claim that was echoed in several citizen analysis videos posted to Social -Media accounts scoured to identify him Man in Helmet.

The outlet reported Heron was arrested overnight on E. Stiles Street in the Frankford neighborhood, about seven miles from where the motorcycle altercation — which looked like a scene from Mad Max — took place Sunday night.

The incident occurred around 9 p.m. at a busy intersection near City Hall and began when a group of ATV and dirt bike riders gathered at a red light and the man, believed to be Heron, was seen as he pulled Bullock’s red sedan aside.

During the stop, the two, who were still in their respective vehicles, began an argument about changing lanes.

Speaking to NBC10, the mother, who was hailed as fearless for her handling of the interaction, began by changing lanes amid the horde of cyclists.

Early Thursday, Philadelphia Police Department Assistant Commissioner Frank Vanore announced that he had received numerous feedback and tips on identifying the perpetrator, who was reportedly arrested seven miles from the crime scene last night or early this morning

“They don’t pay attention to lanes,” she told the outlet in her first interview after the incident. “They just do whatever.” So I pull into the lane and he just hits the side of the car.’

The pair continued to chat, which led to the biker beginning to physically attack her car by climbing onto the trunk and taking the time to break the back window by jumping with both feet several times.

The brazen act – seen by countless other bikers who refused to intervene – prompted Burke to get out of the car and confront the man head-on.

“He jumped here with two feet.” He stepped down with his first foot. “It didn’t work, so then he said… and walked away,” she recalled in the now widely seen clip captured by a surveillance camera.

As soon as he is confronted, the perpetrator, believed to be Heron – his social media suggests he also goes by the alias John Carroll – drops a handgun he had been holding at his hip and raises it it up and points it at Burke.

Undeterred, the defiant mother continued to push forward – leading to them exchanging more words as the bike backed up.

When approached, the suspect even headbutted the woman – all while still wearing his helmet.

Still undeterred, Bullock stood her ground and was even filmed pushing the biker off his bike as he tried to flee the scene.

She told FOX29 Philadelphia that she was driving to deliver Uber Eats orders with her friend in the front seat when she was side-swiped.

None of the adults were injured – but Bullock said she was really just concerned for the children’s welfare.

She added to NBC10, “I’m just grateful that my kids are OK.” They don’t have a scratch. It was simply the fact that I had children in the car. Honestly, I just wanted to protect her.’

The online attention that followed attracted the attention of local police almost immediately.

In a statement after the incident, cops shared stills from footage circulating at the time that showed the suspect’s distinctive tattoos and helmet, which were later noticed by several online detectives.

Not much is known about Heron, apart from a number of social media profiles that suggest he is a local motorist who also calls himself John Carroll.

Several different internet users have labeled him the perpetrator in recent days – a statement police insiders released to several media outlets on Thursday.

It also remains unclear what he is accused of, as lawmakers in the City of Brotherly Love may seek to charge him with attempted murder.
