The Rays are already on vacation

The Tampa Bay Rays lost 7-1 to the Texas Rangers at Tropicana Field on Wednesday, eliminating them from the major baseball playoffs.

The Florida team was favored for this home playoff series, but nothing went as planned. The Rays (99-63) were shut out by the Rangers (90-72) for 15 innings before finally answering. The day before they were defeated 4-0.

The fourth inning was fatal for the St. Petersburg-based club as the visitors hit two home runs for a total of four runs thanks to Adolis Garcia and Evan Carter. The defeat continued as the Texas team added three more runs in the next two innings.

Rays starter Zach Eflin (0-1) allowed eight hits and struck out just three players. His opponent Nathan Eovaldi (1-0) only allowed one point and beat eight opponents.

Third baseman Josh Jung was particularly skilled on the winning side, recording three hits and an RBI in four at-bats.

In the next round, the Rangers will face the American League East leaders, the Baltimore Orioles.

The “D-Backs” also fit

The wins continued in Milwaukee, with the Brewers being surprised in two games by the Arizona Diamondbacks. The guests won the decisive duel 5 to 2.

The local heroes quickly took the lead with two points in the first inning, but it wasn’t until the sixth inning that everything changed. Four straight D-Backs batters reached the bases, including rookie Corbin Carroll with a double. Ketel Marte scored two runs on a single, ending Freddy Peralta’s work night.

Abner Uribe quickly became embarrassed. Thanks to Jose Herrera’s run, the pads were filled, and the right-hander’s poor throw allowed Tommy Pham to cross the plate. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. capped off this offensive push with a hit single.

Milwaukee (92-70), champions of the national team’s Central Section, never recovered. They defeated the Diamondbacks (84-78) 6-3 on Tuesday. They now schedule a date with their group rivals, the Los Angeles Dodgers (100-62).

The same goes for Philadelphia

The Philadelphia Phillies suffered the same fate at the Miami Marlins, dominating Game 2 against the Miami Marlins 7-1 and advancing to the next round.

Bryson Stott was the home team’s hero with a grand slam in the sixth inning. Alec Bohm, Bryce Harper and Nick Castellanos completed their trail tour thanks to this route. JT Realmuto also hit the long ball.

Phillies pitchers have dominated this series. Aaron Nola (1-0) pitched seven innings and allowed just three hits and one walk.

After defeating Miami (84-78), Philadelphia (90-72) will turn its attention to another Eastern Section opponent, the Philadelphia Braves (104-58).
