Sony is now offering PlayStation gamers and PS Plus members the ability to purchase and stream high-quality Sony movies using the Sony Pictures Core app.

Sony wants to bring PlayStation gamers the best films from its Sony Pictures Entertainment studio. The company just announced that it is making its Sony Pictures Core service, formerly called Bravia Core, available to PS5 and PS4 players. With hundreds of films to buy, rent or stream in optimal picture quality.

Already available on Sony Bravia, far beyond services like Netflix, Prime or Apple TV+. Enough to enjoy a 4K HDR image without compression artifacts.

For this relaunch on PlayStation consoles, Sony Pictures Core promises a more or less current catalog with titles such as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Uncharted, Bullet Train and even The Challenge. Since this is video-on-demand and not SVoD, these films may be available on the platform a few months after their theatrical release. This is particularly true for the film Gran Turismo, which is scheduled to be released at the end of the year.
PS4 and PS5 players can purchase Sony films in Early Access and exclusively through the Sony Pictures Core application. Better yet, PlayStation Plus Premium and Deluxe members have access to a catalog of around a hundred films from the studio, which is updated regularly. At launch we find films like Looper, Elysium, Resident Evil Damnation and Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV.
