A video showing a citizen confronting a police officer after he threw rubbish on his property has gone viral in the UK.
The patrolman, who works for the Thames Valley Police Department in England, was caught on a citizen’s surveillance camera throwing the crusts of his sandwich out the door of his vehicle.
The man then confronted the police officer by filming him with his phone. He asked her to pick up her trash. He posted his interaction on TikTok.
“Why did you throw your trash in front of my house? “, he said.
“I didn’t throw away any trash. “It’s just sandwich crusts,” the policeman replied, stuttering.
“Oh yeah? So you think it’s okay to park in front of my house and throw your lunch in front of my house?” he replied.
“I’m going to file a complaint,” he continued. Pick it up, pick it up! “.
The officer then picked up the scabs and asked the man to stop screaming.
The police station said it met with the officer in question to ask him to “reflect” on his behavior.
Environmental activists and anti-littering activists have pointed out the police officer’s behavior, pointing out that this type of gesture is punishable by a fine of $4,180 in the United Kingdom.
