Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced on Wednesday, October 4, that a cloak invisible to thermal imaging cameras has been created for Kiev soldiers.
Harry Potter’s famous invisibility cloak has (almost) become a reality. While the conflict between Ukraine and Russia still rages, the Ukrainian Minister of Digital Transformation announced this Wednesday, October 4, the development of an invisibility cloak for soldiers on the front lines. A cloak that would allow the men of Kiev to escape the thermal imaging cameras.
Mykhailo Fedorov, who is also Ukraine’s deputy prime minister, posted the announcement on his X account, formerly Twitter.
“Have you ever heard of invisibility cloaks in fairy tales? Well, the Ukrainians did it,” he posted on Elon Musk’s social network.
Have you ever read about invisibility cloaks in fairy tales? Well, the Ukrainians did it. The cloak blocks thermal radiation and makes the defenders invisible to Russian thermal imaging cameras. It will help our soldiers to work effectively at night. Miltech magic powered by @Brave1ua Clusters. pic.twitter.com/7OIE4Ciq2c

Difficult to detect with a thermal imaging camera
According to the images available in the publication, we can see the view of a thermal imaging camera targeting three Ukrainian soldiers. But one of them wearing the invisibility cloak is very difficult to spot.
According to the Ukrainian minister, “this will help our soldiers to work effectively at night” and allow them to be invisible to the Russian thermal imaging cameras by “blocking thermal radiation” from the body.
This invisibility cloak, almost worthy of Harry Potter, is already circulating among the Ukrainian ranks.
