The famous Casa Amarela in the Jardim Europa district of São Paulo is for sale. The fivesuite residence has been known for many years as the residence of Assis Chateaubriand and is advertised for a value of R$60 million, according to the real estate agent responsible for the deal.

In addition, according to the advertisement, the monthly IPTU is R$ 161,150. The value of the condominium was not disclosed. In Portuguese colonial style, the house has eight bathrooms, nine parking spaces and five bedrooms in addition to suites. The living room consists of a high ceiling connected to the other common areas and a balcony with a garden. The decoration was designed by Sig Bergamin.

Outside, the resident has at his disposal a gym, a guest suite, a cinema, a gourmet area, a heated pool and a sauna, as well as a small square. Security consists of stateoftheart equipment and the guardhouse is armored. The site also has a power generator and internal and external elevators for accessibility.

Currently Casa Amarela belongs to the couple Donata Meirelles and the advertiser Nizan Guanaes. She is considered one of the most important names in the country’s fashion market, while Guanaes is a UNESCO World Ambassador and communications strategist.

Assis Chateaubriand was born in Paraíba on October 4, 1892. He began journalism at the age of 15 and gradually built his own journalism empire, which included dozens of newspapers, magazines and radio stations. Until his death in 1968, Chatô as he was known was Brazil’s most influential communications entrepreneur and built the Diários Associados conglomerate. At its peak, the group had 34 newspapers, 36 radio stations, 18 television stations, a news agency, two magazines and a publishing house.
