LANDOVER, Md. – Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears offense got off to a fast start Thursday as the team looked to end its franchise-worst 14-game losing streak.

After winning the coin toss and electing to receive, Fields found wide receiver DJ Moore for a 58-yard reception on the third play from scrimmage.

It was Fields’ longest completion of the season and the second longest of his career.

Three plays later, Fields encountered another third-and-long and hit Moore again in the back corner of the end zone for a 20-yard touchdown reception.

Chicago converted on both third-and-9 and third-and-14 on its six-play, 75-yard scoring drive.

After the most productive first quarter of his NFL career (145 passing yards), Fields found Moore again to open the second quarter and continue Chicago’s third drive.

Facing a third-and-6 from the Washington 11-yard line, Moore made a contested catch over Washington cornerback Kendall Fuller for a touchdown that extended Chicago’s lead to 17-0.

With the reception, Moore became the first Bears player since Brandon Marshall in 2012 to have consecutive 130-yard receiving games.

Fields then capped the best half of his career with a third touchdown – a four-yard strike to tight end Cole Kmet – to give the Bears a 27-3 lead with under a minute left.

All three of Fields’ first-half touchdowns came in the pocket, the first time in his career that he accomplished that feat.
