Jeremy Clarkson looks shaken as he lands at Heathrow with Richard Hammond and James May after being “abandoned” in Botswana

Jeremy Clarkson returned to the UK after being stranded in Botswana following a serious flight delay.

The 63-year-old TV presenter landed at Heathrow after a 16-hour long-haul flight alongside Richard Hammond and James May.

Jeremy looked tired after the trip as the trio had to hire a bush plane to pick them up from their luxury camp, which had 40 staff and a pool.

When Richard and James landed in the early hours of Friday morning they were greeted by friends and family.

The Grand Tour stars were on their way to film the next series but were stranded after BA canceled their flight.

Richard, 53, was greeted by his 22-year-old daughter Isabella, who looked delighted to see her father as the couple grinned from ear to ear.

James, 60, also appeared to be greeted by friends as he hugged a young woman.

Tired after the flight, Jeremy grabbed a coffee while pushing his luggage through the arrivals hall.

Their return comes after Jeremy decided to document the trio’s “survival” in Botswana.

On Instagram, the former Top Gear presenter regularly informed his followers about their chances of survival and boasted that they lived in luxury and that 40 employees supported them with heart and soul.

He broke the news with a snap of Hammond and May staring at their phones next to the remains of their dinner and half-full wine glasses, writing: “BA screwed up our flight home so we’re stuck here in a luxury camp in Botswana.” With just 40 employees. It’s all about survival now.’

Jeremy then posted regular updates as he chronicled the threesome’s stay at the remote camp with a stunning pool.

He shared a video of the luxury camp they’re staying at and wrote: “Marooned update.” We’re coping. But how long?’

In his latest update, Jeremy posed with his friend Super, who came to save the team.

Smiling, with his arm around his friend, he wrote: “Many thanks to my dear friend of 20 years, Super, for saving the day.”

The presenter-turned-farmer shared snaps from the luxury camp, shared a tranquil picture of an outdoor pool and sarcastically wrote: “When BA delays a flight for 12 hours don’t they realize how much suffering they are causing passengers?” We are fighting for survival here.”

He later posted an adorable photo of a meerkat on its hind legs watching the sun set over the sandy plain.

He captioned the snap: “Thanks to BA’s incompetence I was forced to endure my evening like this.”

He ratcheted up the drama on Wednesday when he showed a photo of a kyote-like animal burrowing into its dead prey.

In the caption, he jokingly announced: “I’m afraid James May didn’t make it,” before later telling fans that he had misidentified the dead prey and “actually Richard Hammond was turned into food.”

He later shared a snap of himself and James with a gap in between where Richard, now “dead”, should have been sitting as he wrote: “Missing Man’s Formation”.
