NEW YORK – It seems Crocs’ trusty foam clog with the motto “I’m sorry, I’m not sorry I’m ugly” has found a way to get even weirder, this time with a little Western flair.
On Thursday, Crocs unveiled something previously unimaginable. A Crocs cowboy boot, spurs and everything. Should we thank Taylor Swift for that too?
In fact, the company praised its own fan base for the idea.
“The craze for a Crocs-inspired cowboy boot has been growing for years and has created a real fan movement that is trending on social media. Crocs has recognized this passion and is making fan dreams come true by making the Crocs Classic Cowboy Boot a reality,” said a press release.
If you really want it, you have to wait a few more days. The shiny crocodile-embossed boot with western-inspired stitching launches on October 23rd and will retail for $120. And the boot features a rotating spur tag attached to the back strap of the shoe.
The Crocs boot will be available online and in Crocs stores for a limited time.
Crocs said it timed the cowboy boot’s release to coincide with “Croctober,” or the month of October, when the brand typically does something unique with the shoe inspired by its fans.
Crocs became the unofficial shoe of the pandemic as the footwear, often mocked for its looks, became a popular source of comfort for consumers, who paired the shoe with everything from pajamas to smart clothing.
Since then, celebrities like Post Malone and Justin Bieber have loved Crocs.
In September, Crocs released another version of the shoe, the Shrek Croc. It is green and freckled, but has not been reported to smell like an onion.
