50 to 80 millimeters of precipitation is forecast.

In Montreal North, for example, we have not forgotten the floods of August 30, which caused serious damage to many houses.

In an interview with TVA Nouvelles, Burex Group construction expert Sylvain Brosseau suggested several ideas for measures that can be taken to reduce the risk of flooding in your home.

“[Il faut] Make sure the gutters are well cleaned and extend them by at least one meter to keep water away from the building as much as possible. If you have garage downspouts, add sand pockets to the top of the downspout where it meets the sidewalk. This reduces the flow of water to the house,” he mentions.

Mr. Brosseau also recommends cleaning the sump in front of the garage door and making sure the pumps in the holding tanks are working and free of the drip point.
