This week Apple released iOS 17.0.3. This iOS 17 update brings several new features, one of which is specific to the iPhone 15 Pro. These suffer from an overheating issue, iOS 17.0.3 was announced as a fix for the issue.
However, it is difficult to estimate the effectiveness of the patch on people with iPhone 15 Pro, which is why some well-equipped specialists, such as journalists from ZDNet, carried out the comparison before/after installing iOS 17.0.3 with the help of a Thermal camera.
Overheating: The debate is over
According to testers, the iPhone 15 Pro was continuously heating up before the update about 38°C when connected to a 35W power supply. After updating the temperature did not rise above 34°Ca total of about 32°C, in the same load configuration.

The difference is remarkable: 4°C loss after update. Knowing full well that, based on initial feedback, no drop in performance should be observed.
Also note that ZDNet’s testing examined the iPhone 15 Pro Max case and observed more or less the same benefit after updating to iOS 17.0.3.
So if you have an iPhone 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max in your hands, don’t hesitate to install iOS 17.0.3, your smartphone will thank you and not will sweat more in large drops under stress and/or intensive use.
