This news comes as a bit of a shock to many, especially those who have loved and watched the relationship between Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones over the years. But insiders claim that her recent real estate move allegedly has everything to do with the alleged breakdown of her marriage.

In case you missed it, according to Architectural Digest, the two are selling their longtime vacation home in Bermuda, also known as their treasured Longford House, for around $12 million, even though Douglas left the house to Jones and her family for two decades. And this move has once again caused the rumors to split.
An insider claimed to RadarOnline: “The marriage is over, but they don’t want to do the whole divorce and separation thing.” So they have this arrangement that works for them because no one knows about it. They definitely live separate lives.”

That all adds up when you remember Zeta-Jones’ comments about divorce via DailyMail (when she said, “I find divorce repulsive. I will never divorce, ever”). However, the two briefly separated in 2013 due to the stress of Douglas’ battle with cancer and the Chicago actress’ battle with bipolar II disorder and depression, according to People.
“They’ve been together for 23 years now, he’s approaching 80 and she’s still young at 53,” the insider said. “Their marriage was never the same after they reconciled following their brief separation. Since she was suffering from bipolar disorder at the time, she didn’t want to separate from him. So they publicly got back together but stayed apart.”

The couple met in August 1998 at the Deauville American Film Festival in France after being introduced to each other by Danny DeVito.
They married two years later in November 2000 and had two children named Dylan (23) and Carys (20).
