Lise Dion receives the Deputy Medal – TVA Nouvelles

Lise Dion was awarded a medal and honored by members of the National Assembly on Thursday at the Salon Bleu.

The one who today holds the title of comedian who has sold the most tickets in her career in Quebec has been awarded the Deputy Medal, which aims to recognize the achievements of a person or organization that carries out an exemplary and useful action for the good of good has carried out for the community. This is an initiative of the MP for Beauce-Sud and parliamentary assistant to the Minister of Culture and Communications, Samuel Poulin.

The latter was also present to present him with his award, accompanied by the Minister of Culture and Communications, Mathieu Lacombe, and the Minister of Justice, Simon Jolin-Barrette.

“If I have the honor of receiving this recognition today, it is thanks to the public who have followed me for 35 years. I share it with each of you for your trust and loyalty,” the comedian explained during the event. She was surrounded by her loved ones on the occasion.

Earlier this year, elected officials unanimously approved a motion aimed at highlighting Lise Dion’s contribution to Quebec culture.

The request was, among other things, to recognize the comedian as a pioneer of humor in Quebec and in particular for the status of women, highlighting her ability to make people laugh and her various works to make them think.
