Team Canada: Rare visit to Saputo Stadium

The Canadian women’s soccer team will make a rare stop at Montreal’s Saputo Stadium on Oct. 28 for a friendly against Brazil.

The Maple Leaf will visit Quebec for the first time since October 26, 2021. The women beat New Zealand 1-0 on their celebration tour after winning the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics.

The last presence of men in the Quebec metropolis dates back to June 13, 2017, during a duel against Curaçao.

Coach Bev Priestman and her players will also face Brazil on October 31 at the Wanderers Ground in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Canada recently punched its ticket to the Paris Games by defeating Jamaica in the Gold Cup. The team remains disappointed with their elimination from the group stage of the World Cup in July.
