Infanta Maria Francisca de Bragança, Duchess of Coimbra, married lawyer Duarte de Sousa Araújo Martins in the first Portuguese wedding in more than 25 years.
According to CNN Portugal, the Duke and Duchess of Braganza’s only daughter, 26, got engaged last year after being first linked to her boyfriend in 2019.
After their lavish ceremony on Saturday at the Mafra Monastery and Palace, the happy couple appeared elated as they appeared together in front of the adoring crowd and well-wishers.
Looking effortlessly elegant, the bride’s ivory wedding dress featured a sophisticated V-neckline and long sleeves, while the skirt flared into a long train.
To add a touch of sparkle to her ensemble, Maria – who is expected to move to London with her partner soon – wore an ornate diamond tiara, statement earrings and a veil.

She pulled her caramel-colored locks back into an updo and focused her makeup on dewy skin and flushed cheeks.
Meanwhile, a grinning Duarte, 31, cut a dapper figure in a sharp suit with pinstripe trousers and a chic cream waistcoat. He completed the look with a fitted black coat and a navy blue tie.
According to BNN Network, thousands of guests were in attendance, including many foreign members of the royal family and celebrities.
The outlet added that the evening’s festivities also included a feast and cocktail reception, ending with dinner at the Duke and Duchess’ home in Sintra, Lisbon.
Maria reportedly wore two wedding dresses designed by designer Luzia do Nascimento as well as Queen Amélie’s diamond tiara for the occasion.
It is the first Portuguese royal wedding in more than a quarter of a century, reports Royal Watcher.
Speaking to CNN Portugal, Duarte admitted that he intends to stay “behind the scenes” while his wife – who he affectionately calls “Chica” – will lead her public presence.

According to royal fans, those in attendance included Princes Sébastien and Ludwig of Luxembourg, their uncle Prince Guillaume, Princess Gundakar of Liechtenstein and His Royal Highness Prince Leka of Albania.

The newlyweds reportedly exchanged rings at the religious ceremony in front of thousands of guests, while guests enjoyed the reading of sacred passages afterwards.
The wedding celebrations were said to have lasted all weekend, with Maria wearing a Minho outfit – traditional Portuguese clothing – during the celebrations with her family.
