According to a United Nations (UN) survey published on Monday, around 123,000 people in the Gaza Strip have been internally displaced (9). This means that residents had to leave their homes.
The U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees said it was hosting thousands of people in schools in the Gaza Strip. The organization also said there were reports of food shortages in the region.
The conflict began after Hamas launched an attack on Israel from the Gaza Strip on Saturday. Israeli forces responded by bombing targets affiliated with the group in the region.
The latest report, released by authorities in the early hours of Monday, indicates that at least 1,200 people have died in the conflict, 700 in Israel, 493 in the Gaza Strip and 7 in the West Bank.
Israeli defense said it struck 500 Hamaslinked targets on Sunday night (8). In addition, clashes continue to take place in four combat divisions in Israel this Monday. New bomb attacks were also reported in the Gaza Strip.
