Finally, the family spoke about the chef’s legacy. “As we process this difficult loss, we treasure the moments we enjoyed with him in his kitchen and in our hearts. “His legacy will live on forever in the love he put into every dish and the passion he instilled in all of us to savor the flavors of life,” the statement concluded.

Chiarello was known for its Californian cuisine with strong Italian influences. In 1987, he opened his first restaurant called Tra Vigne in Napa Valley. The restaurant later became a famous chain in the United States. Over the course of his career, the chef has written numerous recipe books.

As a chef, the American was honored in 1985 by Food & Wine Magazine, one of the most important in the world. In addition to hosting on the Food Network, the professional competed in two culinary events: “Top Chef Master” in 2009, where he came second, and “The Next Iron Chef” in 2011, where he came third.

Michael Chiarello was accused of sexual harassment by two employees in 2016. He allegedly compared martini glasses to breasts and ordered his managers to hire “sexually attractive” women. The case was dismissed the following year when the chef reached a settlement with the victims.
