Türkiye sends humanitarian aid to Afghanistan after earthquake

The Turkish Ministry of Defense reported this Monday on the dispatch of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan following the severe earthquakes that struck that country.

“We extend our country’s helping hand to Afghanistan,” said the defense minister on the social network X, formerly Twitter.

Likewise, the company added that the aircraft left the Murted base with supplies, but did not specify the quantity or materials it contained.

The number of victims of the earthquakes in Afghanistan exceeded 4,500, according to the country’s authorities.

The Taliban, which leads the country, appealed to the world for help in search efforts, admitting they did not have the infrastructure to deal with such a disaster.

Türkiye joins the list of few nations that have so far sent aid and equipment to the Afghan people during such a difficult time.
