The men mobilized at the front had already left the streets of Tel Aviv for many hours.

“Unfortunately it’s much worse tonight. We only saw women, but today we no longer see anyone, for the simple reason that we have just received an official message from the army asking us to do so [de nous barricader]», explains Megane Dreyfuss in an interview with TVA Nouvelles, while her own brothers and cousins mobilized.

The Tel Aviv entrepreneur does not deny that the army’s announcement has triggered a wave of fear among the population.

“We have the feeling that something is going to happen, we don’t know what yet. We have the feeling that the population is panicking. We immediately saw that everyone was running to get back to their house,” she says.

When the army’s warning came, Ms. Dreyfuss packed her bags within fifteen minutes and went with her baby to the house of friends, whose apartment has a vault, where she will stay for at least the next 72 hours.

“I can admit to you that I’m panicking here[étant en entrevue avec vous] “I’m not in front of my baby,” she admitted.

Even though the situation is critical, Ms. Dreyfuss assures that the citizens of Tel Aviv will not be discouraged.

“We are afraid, but fear does not prevent us from moving forward, it does not prevent us from gathering new strength. We see real waves of solidarity around us,” she assures.
