The Raiders finally win one

After three straight losses, the Las Vegas Raiders finally managed to get back to winning ways, taking advantage of the arrival of an uninspired Jordan Love to beat the Green Bay Packers 17-13 on Monday night at Allegiant Stadium.

The story of this matchup revolved around the Packers’ (2-3) quarterback’s difficulty running the offense. Love threw three interceptions and completed just 16 of 30 passes. Only running back AJ Dillon had a touchdown and was the busiest man on the visiting team.

Love made a few rare good plays, like when he found Christian Watson unguarded and he led his team to a 77-yard gain in the third quarter. Despite everything, the Packers didn’t cross the pay zone and had to settle for a 22-yard field goal.

Jimmy Garoppolo fared better for the Raiders (2-3), but still fell victim to a seventh interception, an NFL record. He completed 22 throws on 31 attempts for 208 yards and a touchdown. Jakobi Meyers caught his pass with his middle finger.

Josh Jacobs scored the touchdown that made the difference in this game with a short two-yard run at the beginning of the fourth quarter.

This duel was very special for Anders and Daniel Carlson, who became the first pair of brothers to compete as kickers in 36 years. The first hit both of his field goal attempts for the Packers, while the second missed one of his two kicks.

Green Bay will have a week off before facing the Denver Broncos (1-4) on Oct. 22. Las Vegas will face the New England Patriots (1-4) on Sunday.
