1985 – Death of Orson Welles
The actor dies at the age of 70 in Hollywood (California, USA). Screenwriter and film director Orson Welles, winner of two Oscars and four at the Cannes Film Festival. He made more than 30 films including Citizen Kaneone of the great classics of cinematography.
1986 – Di Benedetto dies
He died in Buenos Aires at the age of 63. Writer and journalist Antonio Di Benedettoone of the great authors of Argentine literature of the second half of the 20th century.
1991 – Birth of Lali Esposito
The actress and singer Mariana “Lali” Espósito was born in Buenos Aires, which has won 38 awards, including a Gardel and multiple MTV Awards. He made six films and recorded three albums.
2023 – International Mental Health Day
International Mental Health Day was established in 1995 by the World Mental Health Federation The World Health Organization aims to help dispel myths and stigma surrounding this topic.
2023 – Dance Day
Dance Day is celebrated in memory of the nine members of the dance group The Teatro Colón stable ballet lost their lives when the plane they were traveling in crashed into the De La Plata River towards the Chubut town of Trelew, on October 10, 1971.
2023 – World Day Against the Death Penalty
World Day Against the Death Penalty is celebrated with the aim of abolishing it and drawing public attention to the inhumane living conditions to which people sentenced to the death penalty are subjected. It was founded in 2003 by the World Coalition Against the Death Penalty.
