Senators: Josh Norris is close to returning to play

After missing the entire preseason schedule, Ottawa Senators forward Josh Norris practiced in a regular player’s vest on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old is still recovering from shoulder surgery he underwent last year. He was also limited to just eight games in 2022-2023.

Norris was originally expected to be able to fully participate in Sens training camp, but that ultimately was not the case. In fact, the Ottawa team’s doctors never gave him the green light.

In 2023-2024. Norris must play the second season of an eight-year contract that pays him $7.95 million annually. The American has scored 54 goals and 39 assists for 93 points in 133 games in the National League.

The Senators begin regular-season play on Wednesday night with a visit to the Carolina Hurricanes at PNC Arena. The presence of Norris in the “Sens” formation for this duel remains unclear for the time being.
