Felipe Neto brings his mother from Brazil after death threats for talking about politics TV news

Felipe Neto became emotional as he commented on the attacks he suffered for taking a stand against Jair Bolsonaro (PL). The YouTuber said he hopes to spark healthy debate on social media through his political statements. The businessman had to expel his mother from Brazil after receiving death threats.

The influencer gave an interview to PodPah this Tuesday (10). In 2018, Neto became the target of hate messages after speaking out against the election of Jair Bolsonaro as president. Today, influencers no longer feel safe walking around in public places unaccompanied.

“I miss not being afraid. I went to Portugal and after almost five years I was able to see what it means to live without fear. Because it’s been almost five years and people are confusing things,” he said.

When he began discussing sociopolitical issues, Neto wanted to promote a unified debate among internet users. However, polarization in the country prevented the process. “I wanted people to be able to defend themselves. When I saw this, I was shot at from all sides. That was in 2018 and it never stopped.”

In the 2022 presidential elections, the YouTuber was one of the main votes for the candidacy of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). The YouTuber reported that attacks increased during this period:

I’ve been through things that no human being should have to go through. Since I was called everything I was and received death threats, I had to take my mother out of the country. I miss walking down the street without security because people who don’t agree with me accept it. But it won’t happen.
