The boss is no longer responsible for his aching body these days.

Bruce Springsteen, 74, introduced himself on Tuesday on his SiriusXM E Street radio show “From My Home to Your” as “your favorite rock star with a damn stomach ache” as the “Glory Days” singer continues to battle stomach ulcers.

Springsteen & The E Street Band was forced to postpone the remaining 2023 tour dates due to his illness last month, and in his latest update, Springsteen opened up about how the illness has affected his life.

“Let me take a moment and thank my fans affected by our postponed shows for their understanding,” he said. “I’m deeply sorry, but that gut thing, despite my ability to laugh about it, was a monster and unfortunately still rocks my inner world.”

The Boss and the band announced 16 new tour dates last week that will take them across North America from March to September next year.

Springsteen first announced on September 6 that he was being treated for symptoms of stomach ulcer disease when he postponed three shows.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, the main symptom of a peptic ulcer is a sharp, burning pain in the stomach. An empty stomach can make the pain worse, as can eating spicy or acidic foods.

In severe cases, symptoms may include vomiting or vomiting blood, dark blood in the stool, black or tarry stools, difficulty breathing, feeling faint, nausea or vomiting, unexplained weight loss, and changes in appetite.

Springsteen never revealed what symptoms he was experiencing.

“Here at E Street we are heartbroken that we have to postpone these shows,” he said in a statement on his Instagram at the time.

“We had a lot of fun at our shows in the USA and look forward to more great times. We will be back soon. Love and God bless everyone, Bruce.”
