Yann Perreau has unveiled a new song titled The blue of blackWednesday, as well as the corresponding clip.
The 47-year-old singer-songwriter, who has been living in France with his partner and their children for a year, is preparing his next work, which will be released next spring.
In this first excerpt, Yann Perreau mentions that despite trials, such as the perinatal grief for his little Marcia, love is the greatest strength. Thus, “he casts his helpless gaze on a loved one who is suffering in silence… A very gentle text that draws us into the fragility of moments, memories and heartbreak, but which sends a message of hope for which we must continue to fight.” “Believe in the future and move forward together, day by day,” we said in a press release.
He may also be referring to the sexual allegations he faced three years ago that put his career on hold. In a recent interview with Stéphan Bureau for the Contact podcast, Yann Perreau said that he considers it disproportionate to constantly have difficulties in carrying out his job.
Le bleu du noir was produced between Montreal, Toronto and Paris together with Gus Van Go. The latter plays electric guitar alongside François Plante (bass) and Maxime Bellavance (drums).
Yann Perreau’s last full album, The Fantastic of Others, was released in 2016. In 2018, he released the EP Voyager Léger. His admirers are therefore eager to hear the pieces from his next studio work in about six months.
