Live, Israel Hamas war: Warning sirens sound in northern Israel, bombings and rocket fire continue in Gaza

  • The death toll continues to rise as new massacres of civilians are uncovered. In Israel, the latest report records more than 1,200 dead and more than 2,800 injured, according to the army. According to Israeli soldiers, the Hamas attack resulted in the massacre of more than a hundred civilians in the kibbutz of Kfar Aza, two kilometers from the Gaza Strip. On the Palestinian side, the latest report shows more than 1,055 dead and more than 5,100 injured, according to Gaza’s Ministry of Health.
  • 11 French people were killed in Israel and 17 are missing, including children “probably kidnapped by Hamas.” Elisabeth Borne announced that tolls in the Middle East had just increased. Among the victims are more than 80 foreigners, including at least 22 Americans, 20 Thais, 10 Nepalese, 10 French, 7 Argentinians, 4 Russian-Israelis, 2 Ukrainians, 2 British, 2 Peruvians, 2 Filipinos, 2 Brazilians and 1 Cambodian, 1 Canadian, 1 Spanish and 1 Australian.
  • Israeli bombing raids continue in Gaza. The Israeli army said it bombed more than 450 targets in 24 hours.   • The “complete siege” of the Gaza Stripannounced by Israel on Monday, three days after the start of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation launched by Hamas against Israel, is “prohibited” by international humanitarian law. The United Nations (UN), the European Union and humanitarian organizations returned calls on Tuesday expressing concern about the situation.
