- She disappeared on October 7 following the Hamas attacks on the Parallel Universeorganized “Tribe Nova” rave that took place in Kibbutz Re’im, Israel, about 6 km from the Gaza border.
- Shani was at the party with a group of friends and her boyfriend, Mexican Orion Hernández Radoux. There are reports that he was kidnapped by members of Hamas. DJ and Orion’s other friends managed to escape the attacks;
- Shani lived with his family in Israel, about 80 km from the Gaza Strip;
- Despite her German citizenship, she never lived in the country, but often visited her maternal grandparents and family in Germany;
- His mother, Ricarda Louk, was a Catholic and converted to Judaism, while his father is an Israeli Jew. They all live in Israel;
- During the attack, Shani managed to call her family. According to the mother, she instructed the young woman to seek shelter in a bunker. Shots were then fired and contact was broken;
- One of Shani’s aunts, Orly Louk, revealed that the young woman refused to do Israeli military service because she had pacifist beliefs. Shani was also able to avoid the obligation because he has dual citizenship;
- After a video of a lethargic and halfnaked young woman in the back of a truck driven by Hamas supporters went viral online, Shani’s mother recognized her and asked for more information about the young woman’s whereabouts.
- Ricarda Louka claims she received information that Shani is alive and hospitalized in serious condition in the Gaza Strip. She demands that the young woman be removed from there and taken to another hospital.
