A 140 pound player in the NHL

At just 140 pounds, forward Matthew Phillips managed to break through the Washington Capitals’ lineup.

On Friday evening, the 25-year-old ice hockey player will be with Alex Ovechkin when the Pittsburgh Penguins visit the Capital One Arena.

However, this will not be Phillips’ first game in the National Hockey League (NHL), as he played three games for the Calgary Flames between 2020 and 2023. However, he has not yet recorded any points in the Bettman Circuit.

The 5-foot-7 forward is also the lightest offensive or defensive player in NHL history. Among the goalkeepers, the award goes to Roy “La Crevette” Worters. Between 1925 and 1937, the 1.75 meter tall and 60 kilogram masked man wore the colors of the Pittsburgh Pirates, the New York Americans and the Montreal Canadiens.
