Bryce Harper drives the Phillies forward

The Philadelphia Phillies are now just one win away from the National Finals.

On Wednesday, the Pennsylvania club won the third game against the Atlanta Braves 10-2 at Citizens Banks Park, giving them a 2-1 lead in the series.

It was a bomb from Bryce Harper that powered the Phillies. In the third inning, he broke the 1-1 tie with a three-run home run. The star player deflected a shot from shooter Bryce Elder (0-1) 408 feet from home plate.

Harper hadn’t said his last word, however, as he hit a solo home run in the fifth inning. This time it was at the expense of Brad Hand.

Shortly before the hero of the day fired the cannon in the third, Nick Castellanos opened the lead for the winner of this game with a solo home run. JT Realmuto also added his contribution before the end of the third period. His double enabled Alec Bohm and Bryson Stott to complete their tour of the trails. After three innings it was 6:1 for the crowd favorite.

For the Phillies, Trea Turner, Castellanos and Brandon Marsh also hit home runs in the second half of the game. This brought the number of long balls hit by the last World Series finalists in this game to six.

On the mound, Aaron Nola (2-0) secured the win by allowing two runs on six hits from safety. He also defeated nine competitors in five and two-thirds of the work rounds.

The Phillies will try to take the next step in front of their fans on Thursday. If the Braves win Game 4, the two teams will meet in a playoff on Saturday in Atlanta.
