In the same 2022, he was crowned Puno district champion in the Peru Cup, defending Cahusiños de San Miguel. For me as a mother it was even worse because as a player I wanted many things for him and my dream was to see him again in the first division,” Yulissa Nureña, his mother, told La República. He also explained that Diego passed his first exams and then had to stay in the hospital for six months.

“As he says, he has to focus on the safest things: learning. Your decision has been made, but I know it is for your good and your future. “If he is not given the chance, he will come back through the front door as a strong player in goal,” he said.
