The ALUS program was officially launched in Chaudière-Appalaches this Wednesday, October 11, 2023, in collaboration with the UPA Federation of Chaudière-Appalaches. It is at Ferme Paularo Inc. of Saint-Vallier in Bellechasse that the launch of the highly anticipated program has taken place both by various stakeholders committed to sustainable agricultural practices and by the region’s producers.
ALUS is a national program that has existed for almost twenty years and has been established in Quebec since 2016. In addition to promoting leadership in agriculture, it allows us to build connections with diverse stakeholders interested in agri-environmental practices. In Quebec, ALUS is the only program that provides financial compensation to those who choose ecological developments on their land, thereby promoting biodiversity to respond to the agricultural and environmental challenges of their region. ALUS is now present in the region and aims to increase the number of ecological projects in Chaudière-Appalaches.
ALUS is a national charity that provides expertise, resources and direct financial support to a network of 38 communities in six provinces.
