Marie-Anne Desjardins, a lawyer at the Lapointe-Macdonald law firm, met Maxime Dubois through her colleague Léo Macdonald. The two men have known each other for years and have experienced tragedies together that have made their friendship unbreakable. For Léo there is no better man in the world than his friend Maxime. He doesn’t want to see him in a relationship with anyone, which is why he is happy to introduce him to his colleague Marie-Anne, for whom he has great respect. Leo believes that they have good chemistry and that a romantic relationship between them is possible.
When he introduces them to each other, Léo is unaware that Marie-Anne has feelings for him. She knows that Léo is in a relationship with Sara and she doesn’t want to jeopardize their relationship for anything in the world. Marie-Anne loves Léo silently, but this love takes up all the space. She has no interest in anyone else…until Maxime arrives.

Love triangle
Marie-Anne cannot deny that Maxime Dubois is attractive and extremely charming. She therefore agrees to attend a dinner at Léo’s to give strangers the opportunity to get to know each other better. At this moment it is difficult to say whether Marie-Anne wants to see Maxime again because real feelings are developing between them or because he is Léo’s best friend and therefore she has the impression of being closer to the one she truly loves. However, Marie-Anne is aware that there can be nothing more than friendship between her and Léo as long as he is a couple, and she does not want to spend her life waiting for him. She therefore decides to give her relationship with Maxime a chance, who quickly becomes attached to her and has no doubts about his love for her.

Marie-Anne is less upset, but Maxime manages to make her forget Léo. They form a beautiful couple, buy a trailer tent and even start making plans for the future. Everything seems to be going well, but when Marie-Anne learns that Sara has left Léo, her beautiful beliefs immediately disappear. At that moment, everything becomes possible between her and her colleague, who crosses the line one evening over a bottle of wine after they have stayed late in the office. However, Marie-Anne doesn’t want to go behind Maxime’s back and breaks up with him the next day so as not to tell him what just happened between her and her best friend.

The forbidden fruit
Marie-Anne and Léo have fun for a few weeks, behaving discreetly so as not to arouse suspicion among those around them. Since they don’t know what the future holds for them, they enjoy the present moment without asking questions. The murder of a farmer, which Maxime investigates before naming a defendant who he defends
However, Leo complicates matters. The two friends find themselves in enemy camps for the first time and their conflict escalates when Léo and Marie-Anne’s secret is revealed. This revelation triggers goosebumps between the old friends, but also between Marie-Anne and her two lovers. Fortunately, these tensions don’t last: everything is forgotten when Léo’s life is in danger while trying to help a customer. Léo and Maxime realize that friendship is stronger than anything else and that nothing should separate them anymore.
The story of Marie-Anne and Léo was more meaningful to her than to him. It has to be said that Marie-Anne soon finds out that she is pregnant. When she sees Léo returning to Sara as soon as he gets the chance, she decides she would rather pursue a career than become a mother… at least for now. At this point she was offered a position as partner in the firm that would henceforth be called Lapointe-Macdonald & Desjardins. Then Marie-Anne realizes that she wants to celebrate with Maxime. That’s a good thing, because Maxime chooses that moment to bring her a meal and propose a truce – which she accepts with a longing kiss. From now on, lovers focus on the happiness of being together and enjoying good times…until the next incident?
