Two recordings recently shared on social media show the events before and after the killings by the extremist group Hamas at a military base in Zakim, southern Israel, which took place last Saturday, the 7th.
In the first video, a group of people seek refuge in the military base’s toilet. The group consists of at least seven people, including one filming with a cell phone, three boys, a young woman and two men. One of them is a soldier, equipped with a helmet, combat uniform and armed with a machine gun. As the victims cower and remain silent, shots ring out in the background.
According to the G1 news portal, the group was trying to protect itself from extremists from the Izz elDeen alQassam Brigade, the armed wing of Hamas, who carried out the attack on the base in the early hours of Saturday.
The second video
At some point later, these people were fatally attacked, as shown in a second video posted on social media platforms by the AlQassam Brigade itself. Three of the young men who had previously been filmed seeking shelter are dead on the ground.
The images are accompanied by a message that reads: “Scenes of the attack by AlQassam Brigade commandos on the Zikim military base and the capture of a group of enemy soldiers. Saturday, October 7, 2023.”
