The new trailer for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters offers a good look at a great show – Polygon

Godzilla is back, only this time on the small screen. A panel discussion at New York Comic Con 2023 for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, the new MonsterVerse show on Apple TV Plus premiering in November, gave hopeful Kaiju fans a new trailer and a look at the first episode for fans shown. Luckily, Apple put the trailer online right away.

The trailer itself is full of stories, depicting the role of the Monarch in the world of the MonsteVerse and making it clear that the main characters of this series have one or two secrets to hide from the mysterious organization. The trailer also gave us brief glimpses of the changes in the world since the battle between Godzilla and MUTO in Godzilla (2014), which appears to have thoroughly shaken the world and caused every city in the world to come up with a disaster plan for the attack of monsters to create again.

While the trailer looks great, the even better news from the judges is that the first episode of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is fantastic. The series, which also stars Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell playing the same characters almost 50 years apart, looks absolutely incredible and has likeable and interesting characters that find themselves right in the middle of a fascinating giant monster mystery. It’s a best-case scenario for rewiring Blockbuster IP for television.

The preview even included a look at some new posters for the series, both of which look great. Monarch: Legacy of Monsters launches on Apple TV Plus on November 17th.
