Connor Bedard will reunite with Martin St-Louis

A photo of Martin St-Louis and a young beginner-aged Connor Bedard has been circulating on social networks for a few weeks. A photo taken in 2015 during the prestigious Brick Invitational tournament held annually in Edmonton.

However, this is not the only time the boy has been portrayed with the Quebecois.

“Growing up, I often played against his kids in spring tournaments. He was her coach, Bedard said, and met in a locker room at the Brossard Sports Complex. We played them in the semifinals of a major tournament and beat them. Despite everything, I asked him straight after the game if we could take a photo together. He didn’t look happy.

At that point, he never imagined that their paths would cross again a few years later in the NHL.

“Playing against your team again makes me realize how things have come full circle. He’s doing a pretty good job. “It’s special to see him behind the bench after his career,” said the 18-year-old athlete.

Unlike Bédard, St-Louis saw every team turn their noses up at him during the draft. We know the rest.

“I saw him play when I was young. He went from being an uncapped player to becoming one of the best players in history. All his life he heard people say he was too small. He always proved people wrong. The level of competition he was playing with was really entertaining to watch. It’s a good example to follow.”
