Sandlot star Marty York has confirmed that his mother was murdered in her California home.
Deanna Esmaeel, a sheriff’s deputy, was found dead in her home in Crescent City, California, on Thursday.
“This is the hardest post I have ever had to write,” York said in a statement.
“Last night my mother was murdered by a man she was dating. “At the moment there is a nationwide manhunt.”
Adds: If you have seen this man, please call the police immediately. I can’t even comprehend what’s happening but I feel like if I find this person I’m going to physically beat them up. I pray to God I don’t find him because it will be a fate worse than hell.’

The police have released images that presumably show the suspect, Walter
“Last night my mother was murdered by a man she was dating. “There is a nationwide manhunt underway at this time,” York said in a statement
Marty York is best known for his role as “Year-Yeah” in the 1993 classic “The Sandlot.”
The Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office on Friday in hopes of learning the whereabouts of Esmaeel’s boyfriend, Daniel James Walter.
Investigators have named Walter, who recently changed his name to Edward Patrick Davies, as a suspect in Deanna’s murder, TMZ reported.
The officers have located Walter’s vehicle, but have not yet located the 54-year-old.
Sheriff Scott of the DNSO released a statement following Deputy Esmaeel’s death, saying: “We are all deeply heartbroken by the loss of Deputy Esmaeel. “Our hearts and prayers go out to her family, friends and colleagues.”
