Mark Beretta and his wife Rachel have separated after 22 years of marriage, sources have revealed to Chron Australia.
The Sunrise star and his former partner, who married in 2001, confirmed in a statement on Saturday that they had quietly split in recent months.
“Earlier this year, after much thought and 22 years of marriage, Rach and I came to the conclusion that a separation was best for us,” Beretta told Chron Australia through a Seven spokesperson.
“We remain good friends, and our two children and grandchild remain our focus and priority as we move forward with love, dignity and respect.”
The couple, who met in 1999, have two children together: daughter Ava, 19, and son Dan, 16.
There were signs of trouble ahead of the split when the couple put their Mosman home on the market in February.
The sports reporter sold his Balmoral Slopes home for $13 million in May. They had to settle for less than their original expectations of $15.5 million and reduced the list price by $1.75 million.

The five-bedroom, three-bathroom retreat has struggled to attract potential buyers.
The Berettas later decided to add another $750,000 before finally sealing the deal in May.
The couple had spent the last few years rebuilding the Mandolong Road home they bought in 2016 for more than $6 million.
They spent more than $900,000 on renovations, according to council documents.
In September, Mark was spotted driving around in a powerful $275,000 black Maserati.
He was photographed leaving the Channel Seven studios in Eveleigh, Sydney in his luxurious vehicle.

Although it’s unclear whether he bought the car or it was loaned to him, it hints at a new era of single life for the popular TV host.
Mark has previously spoken fondly of his wife, describing how they fell in love after being set up on a blind date by friends.
“(My friend) said to me: ‘If you don’t come to the Middle Park Hotel tonight you’ll regret it for the rest of your life,'” he told The Daily Telegraph in 2017.
“So I actually did a U-turn and went back.” Rach and I talked for about 20 minutes and I just said, “Wow, she’s great.”

Earlier this year he described his family life as “in full swing” and explained that, in addition to his wife and son, he also lives with a grandchild, the son of his teenage daughter Ava, and her partner.
“There’s our children Ava and Daniel, Ava’s partner Sam and our grandson Arlo, so it’s a full house,” he told The Australian in July.
“The house is built on a hill so it’s spread over three levels and we’re lucky enough to have a view of the beach below and a pool at the back, which we love.”
In 2021, Mark told New Idea that his early start means he misses out on “family time in the morning.”

Looking back, he wishes he had spent more time at home with his children when they were younger.
“When the kids were little, they went to bed early and by 7 p.m. all the lights in our house were turned off.
“But now they’re staying up later and sleeping in, and you’re missing out on family time in the morning,” he said.
“Looking back, you think I would have liked to have spent more time at home, but life is what it is and you make the best of it.”

Despite this, Beretta has “no complaints” about his job and is “very grateful” to be in the position he is in as it has brought “extraordinary benefits” to his family.
When asked what Ava and Daniel thought about seeing their father on TV, Mark said they were “taking it all in their stride.”
He said they initially thought it was “stupid” before realizing it was “not that bad” – especially when he was able to take them both to the Sydney Opera House to see Katy Perry live.
Mark has developed a bond with his teenage children over the last few years after they developed an interest in his lifelong passion for motorsports.
“We go to the track quite often and they really enjoy it,” Mark said, adding: “Not quite to the same extent as me, but they have the virus.”
Describing his children in Now To Love, Mark said: “I have a very considerate daughter who is just like her mother and a son who is pretty well off too.”
“You do your best and try to guide your children with your values and just hope that they become happy and good people in the community who have a good sense of what they can do to help other people and a Having awareness of others.”
“That’s pretty much all you can hope for,” he added.

“I’ll be there until they drag me out,” he told Now To Love in June.
“I always had to pick the kids up from school and do something in the afternoon.” “Many of my mates couldn’t do that.”
