La 1 presents a new season of the current Comando season, which is now broadcast in the morning. On Antena 3, the password competition welcomes Damián Mollá, Juan Ibáñez, Supremme De Luxe and Tania Llasera as guests. The daily work of police officers comes to DMAX with the documentary series 091: Police Alert. As far as cinema is concerned, two films with different intentions stand out, the horror drama It Follows on DARK and Jean-Jacques Annaud’s adaptation of The Name of the Rose on Movistar Clásicos.
New season of “Current Command”
12.35, 1
The Comando news section returns to La 1 with a new program in the morning broadcast. The program will travel the country in search of realities that reflect issues of general interest, as is the case with this first episode, which focuses on shrinking homes and the rise in apartment rental prices. The number of citizens living in less than 30 square meters in Spain has tripled in the last decade, and the lack of rental housing is increasing the supply of mini-apartments or studios, forcing many tenants to live in shared apartments. The price of a room has increased by up to 73% in the last eight years.
‘It follows’
7:30 p.m., DARK
USA, 2014 (100 minutes). Directed by: David Robert Mitchell. Starring Maika Monroe, Jake Weary, Olivia Luccardi.
It takes up the pattern of scary films for teenagers from the seventies and eighties and takes it to narrative abstraction. What was then vulgarity becomes here a flood of threatening images that opt for stylistic minimalism, in a plot that is as disturbing as it is unhealthy.
The everyday life of the police officers.
9 p.m., DMAX
The documentary series 091: Police Alarm follows officers who face new challenges on Spanish roads. On this occasion, an operation in Palma de Mallorca against members of United Tribuns, a criminal organization operating in Spain, is being closely monitored. Additionally, you will explore the Costa del Sol, one of the most popular destinations for criminals.
“The name of the Rose”
10 p.m., Movistar Classics
France-Italy-Germany, 1986 (123 minutes). Director: Jean Jacques Annaud. Actors: Sean Connery, Christian Slater.
Jean-Jacques Annaud showed his daring in adapting Umberto Eco’s novel. The film is forced to leave aside the overwhelming literary density of the original and its result is subordinated to the requirements of a blockbuster, but Annaud creates some unusual images that enhance it, skillfully combining detective investigations with some horror film codes. And there can be no better William of the Baskervilles than Sean Connery’s.
New guests at “Password”
10/22, antenna 3
The competition presented by Cristina Pedroche proposes several tests based on guessing secret words. This week’s participants are supported by Damián Mollá, Juan Ibáñez, Supremme De Luxe and Tania Llasera. In each duo, one of its members knows the correct answer and must provide clues using hints, gestures and other words with different roots.
