Emmanuel Gazmey Santiago, Anuel’s real name, said in his Instagram post that his operation was a matter of “life or death.” He did not name the reason for the surgical procedure, but according to the Dominican newspaper “Diario Libre” it was said to be appendicitis.
The singer underwent surgery for appendicitis on Saturday, October 7th. This diagnosis led to him being rushed to hospital to treat the illness and save his life.

During a live broadcast on his social networks, Arcángel responded to a comment from a follower who said: “Anuel Street and artist at the same time.”

According to Alí Warrington, one of the show’s hosts, Anuel “could be suffering from Benitis”, a disease that is said to prevent any record release.
