From Spider Man: Freshman Year Tom Holland

At the beginning of October, the release date of “Spider-Man: Freshman Year” was confirmed, the new animated series of the legendary Spider-Man from Marvel Studios and Sony, which will be available on Disney Plus in 2024.

According to The Cosmic Circus, the series aims to tell a parallel life of Spiderman from the Marvel Extended Universe (UCM) starring Tom Holland before Civil War. However, this will not be included in the project.

The production uses the graphic design of classic comics. In this sense, the actors must embody the voice of each character that is part of the special story of Peter Parker in high school.

There will be some UCM references, such as the voice of Charlie Cox, playing the same Daredevil he has portrayed since 2015, and Paul F. Tompkins as Bentley Wittman/Wizard.

However, this event will not be the same for Holland, as he will not be the voice of the teenage version of Spider-Man in this new phase of the Consortium.

In his place, the series will feature Hudson Thames, who had already brought “Spidey” to life in one of the episodes of the popular series “What if…?” The American, known for films such as “The A-list” and “Bone Dry”, will share the stand with Eugene Byrd, Hugh Dancy and Kari Wahlgren, among others.

The reason why Holland will not be part of the cast of the new series is still unknown, as are characters like MJ Watson (Zendaya) and Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon), who will also be replaced by Nico Minoru and Amadeus Cho.

It should be made clear that this possible change is part of the multiverse version promoted by the franchise, in which there are thousands of interpretations of a single superhero.

The series about “Spidey”, the most iconic character in Marvel Comics, is expected to appear on Disney Plus on November 2nd, 2024.
