The massacre of journalists: 12 dead, 8 injured and 2 missing
Twelve journalists killed, eight injured and two missing: This is the tragic tally of last week’s conflict in the Middle East, compiled by the Committee to Protect Journalists, the New York-based American freedom of information organization in the whole world. The latest two victims are Husam Mubarak, a Hamas-affiliated reporter for Al-Aqsa radio who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in northern Gaza on Friday; and Issam Abdallah, a Portal videographer in Beirut who was killed during clashes between Lebanon and Israel. The most recently injured journalists include two others from the Portal agency, Thaer Al-Sudani and Maher Nazeh; Elie Brakhya, member of the Al-Jazeera TV team, along with journalist Carmen Joukhadar; France Press agency photographer Christina Assi and videographer Dylan Collins. Roee Idan, an Israeli photographer whose wife was killed in the Hamas attacks on October 7, and Palestinian photographer Haitham Abdelwahid are missing.
